Wärtsilä response to COVID-19

18th March 2020

The rapid spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), combined with the impact of various government responses, is now affecting every person, organisation and society worldwide. We all need to find ways to deal with the crisis in our personal and business lives.

At Wärtsilä, our global crisis management team was activated immediately in January when the novel coronavirus outbroke in China. Since then we have implemented numerous measures to help protect the health, safety and well-being of our 19,000 employees as well as all external stakeholders around the globe. We encourage social distancing in daily work, using online meetings, and restrict all non-critical travel, off-site meetings and external visitors to Wärtsilä sites to contain the virus.

During this difficult time, our aim is to secure the best possible support  for our customers, partners and the communities in which we operate in a socially responsible way. We strive to safeguard logistics and supply management in order to run operations effectively. We are in close contact with our stakeholders across the globe, to constantly monitor our manufacturing, field service and supply chain resources to ensure business continuity.

In this highly unusual and uncertain situation we are fully committed to providing as seamless customer care as possible. Our global team is dedicated and available to support the efficiency of your operations at all times. We will continue to support our customer base and new contact information has been added here.
