CBO confirms CyScan Mk4 upgrade programme

February News

Companhia Brasileria de Offshore (CBO) has committed to a CyScan Mk4 fleet upgrade programme. The largest Brazilian owned vessel operator with 20 OSVs, they currently have CyScan Mk3s installed across their fleet. The discontinuation of spares to support the legacy Mk3, along with the improved benefits of the Mk4 and the inclusion of the industry leading 3 year warranty were all decisive factors.

The Maintenance and Operator training course with CBO personnel and Guidance's local service partner, JRC took place across three days last month at CBO's Aliança Shipyard facilities in Niteroi. Companies such as Marine Technologies, Gulfmark and Hornbeck were all in attendance.

A total of 15 vessels are to be upgraded, out of which 10 systems have already been delivered and waiting to be installed and commissioned next month. The CyScan Mk4s will run alongside the latest 4.8 Dashboard on the touch screen integrated PCs.

Although the price of oil has caused trepidation amongst some companies, Guidance believes that the vision of CBO to understand the need to upgrade their fleet is the right move. As a company in the business of safety, Guidance is pleased that CBO has recognised the need for the latest laser DP sensor technology.
